Songs 31 to 40, Sri Raghava Shatakam
Radhekrishna!
Sri Anna is an epic personality of our times and it is indeed our great fortune to be associated with him, even if remotely. All the Granthams that he has composed are an expression of pure divinity. While all these outpourings are his 'Samarpanams' at the sanctum of his beloved 'Lord Bhaktakolahalan', he has been extremely gracious in making them available to us for our benefit. We should therefore ensure that it's pristine divinity is maintained by us by ensuring that it is not reduced to mere casual listening / rendering. We should convert this into an opportunity to listen and render with bhakti which will gladden Sri Anna's heart.
Songs 31 to 40, Sri Raghava Shatakam
Jai Sitaram.
Composure at the most testing moments of one's life distinguishes the greats from a commoner. The songs that we sing in this set depicts the turn of events resembling a lashing cyclone uprooting and dislocating everything that comes it's way. Sri Rama's grandeur is unaffected even as he fulfils his father's vow to Kaikeyi. Kausalya's sorrow gives in to the unshakeable resolve of her son. His departure from a regal life to a life of exile is handled with equipoise. His meeting with a long lost friend at the start of his 'Vanavaasaa' will melt the stoniest of hearts. With Sri Rama doing all that he did calmly, does it mean he is a emotionless person ? The video concludes with the remorse that Sri Rama is undergoing on his separation from his dear parents, his family and subjects. For the sake of upholding 'Dharma', no sacrifice is mean is what Sri Rama teaches all of us.
